Aggregate Industries Ltd. Is located at the foothills of the Northern Range in the Matura River basin. This area is rich in the naturally occurring deposits of construction sand and gravel found in the exposed outcrops on the surface through the property. As a first step in the mining of these deposits, a comprehensive environmental study was commissioned. Based on the results of this study, representations were made to the relevant authorities and a certificate of clearance was issued. Specialized machinery was then imported and a state of the art extraction system was designed to operate in such a manner, as to maximize the yield of the various grades of aggregate all within aself-contained water recycling washing operation thereby minimizing the impact on the Basin’s delicate ecosystem. We are very proud of our facilities and the integrity and excellence of our aggregates.
Our strategic vision is self-sufficiency, to provide a ready source of superior aggregates for our Ready-mix operations throughout the island. This enables us to be competitive both in price and quality and leads to an enhanced service our clients.

Aggregates are not only a key component in the construction and maintenance of highways, roads, and streets, but also an indispensable ingredient in concrete. Accounting for 60% to 70% of the total volume of concrete, aggregates strongly influence concrete's freshly mixed and hardened qualities.

A quarry is a type of open-pit mine from which rock or minerals are extracted. Quarries are generally used for extracting building materials, such as dimension stone. Quarries are usually shallower than other types of open-pit mines,
pit-run gravel - gravel as found in natural deposits rather than blasted from rock faces
